The Kazan Institute of Federalism took place in preparation of XVI Economic Forum as the partner participates. The Forum was held on September, 6-9, 2006 in Krynica Zdroj (Poland).

Each year the Economic Forum in Krynica Zdroj brings together decisionmakers, experts and political, economic and cultural leaders. They gather to discuss challenges that the modern world faces. By sharing experiences and exchanging opinions, they facilitate making decisions and undertaking projects crucial for both international interregional cooperation.

Among participants of last year's XV Forum there were presidents of Lithuania and Poland, and also prime ministers of Slovakia and Poland.

The Forum was in the form of plenary sessions and numerous debatable seminars. The Kazan Institute of Federalism conducted preparation of a seminar on a theme «The Future of the Russian federalism» where politicians and political scientists from Russia, Italy and the USA took part. The leader of a seminar – director of scientific programs of the Kazan Institute of Federalism Rafael Khakimov. Working languages – Russian, English and Polish.
